SmartPower is power/energy saving software that lets you to save energy by resuming & hibernating your Windows PC according to configurable rules. The utility of SmartPower configuration lets you create rules that prevent this happening. It also lets you to create rules that wake your computer from hibernation at specific times, such as scheduled updates and downloads. Otherwise, SmartPower keeps the machine in power-saving hibernation mode.When SmartPower sees that no rules are currently applied on then it will initiate hibernate (or suspend, or shutdown).
SmartPower is compact & works as a Windows service. It is a freeware, so it saves you money at both ends: up front and on your power bill!
Note : If you've disabled hibernation in your system, you don't need to enable it before setting up SmartPower since the program will do that for you.
Where to Start :
If you're thinking where to start, there's no need to go poking about in the Control Panel, just Start it with your Start Menu, and click SmartPower Configuration to open a tabbed properties dialog. SmartPower actually offers two Power Off settings: Suspend and Shutdown.
